November 30 OLPCI just downloaded a new blog tools, call Windows Live Writer. This application is currently in beta testing, but so far, I still didnt encounter any problem, yet. Back to the title. I know this is not a new "news", but I believe that not much know about this OLPC project. OLPC stand for One Laptop Per Child. It is an education project to let the poorest people on the world to connect with the wealthiest knowledge and information in the world. This project was carried out by a non-profit agency, and each laptop was targeted at $100USD, damn cheap. Of course, you can guess the performance of this laptop. The processor of the laptop is 500MHz with 128MB of DRAM, and 500MB of Flash memory, yet the operating system is run on Linux. The laptop also equipped with dual mode display, 1 is full color transmissive DVD mode, and another display option is B&W(Black and White), but the resolution is 3x readable than the color display mode. Unfortunately, this laptop has no hard disk; to store extra information, the user need to store it on external storage, thanks to the 4 USB ports provided. Another feature that let this laptop usable is the wireless antenna. This antenna allowed the laptop to communicate with the nearest OLCP and connect to the Internet, even set up a p2p network. The laptop is capable to do most things----except storing large amount of data, like movies and mp3s. (look like they still can't enjoy complete entertainment like us... haiz) The laptop come in various design, some in apple green casing, some in a book-look. 100USD!? You gonna be kidding! Most people will wonder: how possible to build a 100USD laptop? The LCD Display maybe already can exceed 100USD! Here is the answer:
After read that article, I feel that I am quite lucky, I don't need to use the cheap laptop (although it was more powerful and 10 times cheaper than my first, 7-year old PC). This is really a very useful project, maybe you wont see the effect immediately, but I believe the effect will change the world one day.
Solitaire,
I found your son's handphone,
ask him to find me.
012XXXXXXX(不方便在此透露)
November 26 Girls are special...... agree?Sorry to all female who read my blog:
This morning, my brother sent me a picture of my camera HP r707. The picture was so surprise: A LCD screen with cracked lines. Shit! I borrowed the camera to my sister to Singapore, and the camera's LCD screen broken at the first day of the journey, haiz.... People said girls cannot read map, you give them a map, they will also lost direction; you give them a car, they will knock on other cars; you give them computer, the computer will be infected even by the weakest viruses. You give them handphone, they will lost it. They all dont know about machines and electronic stuff...
![]() Never thrust this e-mailThis morning, I sign in to my e-mail, and I saw this e-mail:
Never thrust this e-mail. Last time, when I search for part time job, I 'accidentally' found one in The Star Paper. Listen to me, is The Star! Not some lousy paper! Although the advertisment is not large, but it caught my attention. I phone there, but no respond. So I e-mail to him. It just offer me the job me without interview!
At here, I advice you all, not to thrust this kind of advertisement, especially the companies that never enclose the address, type of works, and the most important: need to pay the so called company some amount first before start working. "Stick together team."

"Roger that."
"Enemy spotted."
"Need backup!"
"Fire in the whole!"
"The bom has been planted."
"Get out of there, it's gonna blow!"
"Terrorist win..."
These seem familiar? Yes, it is some commands or communications words in popular pc game, Counter Strike. Paintball, a kind of real time shooting game, which was always related with counter-strike by beginners. Paintball is an exciting extreme game, each player will be equipped with a semi-auto paint gun powered by carbon dioxide air system that shoots the paintball to a distance of 150 to 250 feets. The paintball or pellet, or sometime we call it bullets, is a round, skinned gelatin capsule with colored liquid inside it. The colored liquid is non-toxic, non-caustic, water soluble and biodegradable. Once the paintball contact with the body or target, it will burst, and leaves a bright paint mark and who are marked are considered eliminated.
Yesterday, EngSoc (Engineering Society) , helded a paintball game at A' Famosa Resort, Melaka. Me, Eric, Tjun Kit, Tze Wei, and Chia Syan, form a team named 'Most Wanted'. We had a short briefing about the safety precaution and the way to use the gun. Some simple safety precaution, for example, one must wear the helmet before entering the battlefield, and cannot remove the mask in the battlefield. We are the last team to play the game. The first game is capture the flag, the first team to catch the flag and run back to his own base without been shooted considered as winner. When the first game was playing, we look behind, and started to plan our strategic. I been selected to be the flag catcher, and other people be the defender. In our game, the feeling of nervous covered all of us, it was not that simple and relax as we thought, although I keep telling me it just a game....
5, 4, 3, 2, 1, Go go go! The game started. I move like the way as we planned earlier, and I successfully move to the first line, at there, I saw our opponent already captured the flag! I quickly raise my gun and aimed at the guy. Maybe too nervous, I forgot my situation, I stood up and shoot the guy, at the moment, a pallet shoot on my helmet.... shit! headshot! Out! After that, Eric continue my position, and he managed to capture the flag and run back to our base without been shoot, we won! But I sacrificed....
Second game is more exciting, it's call Capture the Base. In that game, I covered the left side, and Eric covered the left side. I move to the front, one by one, and at last at the white bucket at the center. I saw opponents, but I cant shoot them: I can see the bullets shooting out move to the bottom in a curve, I dont know is the gun not enough pressure, or the wind factor too strong, I cant aim well. Eric run to the enemy base, and he catch the enemy flag, but unfortunately, he been shooted... Thanks for your sacrifice... we appreciate that. Then I keep defending, at that moment, Tjun Kit rush to the front, and he end the game, because we won again!!!
I love the second round, more exciting than the first round. Although we dont have enough points to enter the final, but I feel happy, and fun!! wow!
For those who plan to play Capture the Base, I tell you something: When one of your teammate run to enemy base, the enemy will stand up and shoot at your teammate who running in their base, so, that is the time to shoot them. I found out this, but too late, the game already finished, and I was out of bullets.
Paintball is really a gun and health game, just the cost to play this game is not cheap, it cost about RM55 per person, and limit for 50 pellets. We get special price at RM50, and get 75 pellets, because we joined the trip with EngSoc. So, its a costly but exciting game.
November 17 Conference in Hilton Hotel, PJ.Day before go to Conference
Tomorrow there was a conference in Petaling Jaya (PJ), EngSoc needs to send a few representives to attend the conference. So, me, Tjun Kit and Tze Wei join as volunteers, ;)
Tjun Kit told us that we all need to wear formal for the conference, with tie. So as usual, I prepared the shirt for tomorrow, tie well a tie, and I found that the tie I tied was terrible... :( I ask Tjun Kit to tie for me, but also not as good as I imagine. That time, I suddently thought about the internet, and quickly Google for 'How to wear a tie', and I tie a knot called Windsor Knot. At first, I failed, but after referred to the pictures several times, I successfully mastered the technique, so smart I am...ha!</DIV
Try on the full costume
Actually I just want to adjust the tie for tomorrow, The crazy Tjun Kit want us to wear the whole costume, and took photo. So I changed. Since I have a coat, I wore it. The coat was custom made by my father, so it was fit to my body. First, post as a manager, then a hip hop style, pirated CD boss etc. There is 1 snap, I throw the paper, and Tze Wei snap it, I like that picture, but it was blur... haiz... >
The Day during the conference
Early in the morning, I and Tjun Kit together with Tze Wei, wait at the MMU roundabout at 6am, and there was only 1 EngSoc representative there----Sia Thiong, so there were just a total of 4. On the bus, I slept all the time, until I arrived Hilton Hotel, PJ. The hotel is nice, and high class, but someone said just 4 stars only. We sign up at the counter, and went out for dinner at nearby mamak stall. We chat at mamak stall there, chat about the EngSoc activities, interview session, and others. Conference open ceremony start sharp at 10am, open by our MMU president.
After the open ceremony, the hotel prepared a light breakfast for the audience. I ate a well-look-bread, delicious! When the hotel's event incharger told us to back to the conference room, we ran away. But that time just 11++am, so early, so we decided to go to Berjaya Time Square for window shopping. I think we spent most of the time in the Border Bookstore. After lunch at 3pm, we walked to Pudu Station, and bought tickets to come back to Melaka.
That day was almost like that, but if the conference in not held at Petaling Jaya, I will stay down to listen to the conference, because the title is about ICT, and that's the path laid in front me.
"You will only success if you work in the field that you like," Donald Thrump November 06 New semesterTime is fast.
3 weeks holidays, passed like light speed.
And why the holiday timing so shit?!
MMU holiday ended,
but matrix's holiday just get started.
So had to go back at Sunday,
because want to meet some friends.
Now, sitting here and typing,
I already arrived Melaka,
at 6.30pm, Sunday,
8 hours of hyper-boring bus ride.
new semester started,
had to try harder more....
